School Day Consultation

We are proposing to make small changes to our school day from September after the day was changed for a temporary period to facilitate our response to the COVID pandemic. The proposed new school day is:

Key changes to our current school day would be:
- A slightly earlier start by 10 minutes.
- A longer form time, enabling form tutors to work with students on:
- Developing effective revision and self-study skills
- Reading for pleasure
- Developing positive Attitudes to Learning
- The reinstatement of a morning break which was removed in response to the COVID pandemic. This will allow students to have a comfort break during the morning session.
- Lunch would take place later in the day, a change from the very early lunches we currently have in place.
- The school day would end 10 minutes later.
- Lesson 6 for Year 11 students will be 45 minutes long.
