Good afternoon,
I hope that you and your family are well. Here at Westfield School our Year 11 students have successfully completed their mock exams, sports fixtures continue to come thick and fast and lots of students are looking forward to their upcoming rewards trips.
Year 7 Football
Well done to our Year 7 footballers, who won two out of three games in a recent 5-a-side tournament at All Saints. Ms Robinson was very proud of Mia, Beau, Arabella, Ailbe, Mia and Kyrah for their positivity and exceptional teamwork. Well done, girls!
Another Champion!
Westfield has a proud history of sporting success and has been the launchpad for incredible careers for the likes of Olympian Katie Summerhayes and England international Ellie Roebuck. More recent graduates, Oliver Arblaster, Chene Muir and Louie Marsh are in the early stages of very promising football careers. We can now add another champion to that list – huge congratulations to Beau in Year 7 who has become British Orienteering Champion!
SIMS to Arbor
It is important that all families are aware that we are in the process of moving to use a new management information system in school. We currently use a programme called SIMS which holds all our important information relating to our students. SIMS is used for everything from taking registers and logging the number of stamps students have received, to holding addresses and other contact details. From January, we will begin using a new system called Arbor. The switch should not have a significant impact on how you receive information from and interact with school.
Uniform Reminders
Thank you for your ongoing excellent support in ensuring your child attends school in full uniform. Details of our uniform can be found here. Please be reminded that leggings and jeans are not part of our school uniform, and students attending school in leggings/jeans will be asked to change into school uniform that we can provide. We understand that at this time of year as we approach Christmas, family finances can be stretched and would remind families that we hold a stock of pre-loved, good quality uniform that we can provide to families who require it. Similarly, we continue to warmly welcome donations of any items of uniform that your child has grown out of.
Toast for Breakfast
As we enter the winter months it becomes more important than ever that our students enjoy a breakfast that means they are well-fuelled for a day of learning. We continue to offer free toast for breakfast daily – this is served in our dining room from 08.00 each morning and all students are welcome!
With many thanks for your excellent ongoing support.
